Eligibility Requirements
Player eligibility for the Cape Cod Youth Basketball League is determined by school grade and age as listed below:

8th Grade: Born after 8/31/09

7th Grade: Born after 8/31/10

6th Grade: Born after 8/31/11

5th Grade: Born after 8/31/12
-
4th Grade: Born after 8/31/13
Players may play up a grade, or more, but no player may play down a grade, regardless of age. All players must attend grade school on the Island.

Registration
Registration for the 2023-24 is closed.
Registration for the 2024-25 season is expected in October 2024.

Travel Team Commitment
Martha's Vineyard Travel Basketball Teams practice at least twice each week November through February with additional opportunities for scrimmages and other team activities possible. League games are held on the Island & the Cape on Saturdays and / or Sundays. There are typically two games each weekend during the season and every effort is made to schedule these games on the same day. The season concludes with the league tournament, but many teams participate in other post-season tournaments depending on age.
Practices that fall on holidays or school break are determined based on gym time availability and are at each coach's discretion.

Player Sponsorship
We understand that living on the Island can be financially challenging, and we have developed the MV Youth Travel Basketball Scholarship Fund to assist players whose families are overburdened.
We work with local companies who pledge sponsorship for players each season. Our goal is to ensure that any player that makes a team will have the ability to participate in the travel basketball experience.
